Wind Turbine Technician (Lead Composite Technician) needed for BladeTex

1 Vacancy Location: Beaumont, AB T4X 1N9

As a Lead Composite Technician, you will take ownership of wind turbine blades repair projects from setup through completion. You will perform advanced composite repairs, lead crews in the field, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead and perform advanced composite repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles, and nose cones, including structural, surface, and lightning damage.

· Supervise and mentor technicians in both field and shop environments.

· Lead rope access crews on turbine projects.

· Assist with setup, inspection, installation, and maintenance of wind turbine systems and equipment.

· Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to complete projects and resolve issues.

· Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

· Stay up to date with evolving blade repair techniques and materials.

· Complete clear and accurate blade repair reports.

· Assemble, install, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment.

· Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, and repair or replace defective machinery parts.

· Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.

· Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup, and operate machining tools to fabricate parts.

· Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.

· Supervise other workers.

Salary: $45.00 to 50.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / hour for 30-40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time Start Date: April 2027 End Date: October 2027

Requirements / Skills: Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Certification:

· GWO BST and ART certification

· IRATA or SPRAT Level 3 certification

On the road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.

Equipment and machinery experience: Wind Turbines

Specialization or experience: Green economy sector, hands on composite repair experience

Work site environment: At heights, Noisy, Odours, Confined spaces, Dusty, All weather conditions

Transportation: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel

Security and safety: pre-employment alcohol and drug test

Work setting: Various locations, Maintenance, Relocation costs not covered by employer, Service, Repair

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination

· Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
