Wind Instrument Repairer (Lead Composite Technician) needed for BladeTex

As a Lead Composite Technician, you will take ownership of wind turbine blades repair projects from setup through completion. You will perform advanced composite repairs, lead crews in the field, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities: Inspect products to determine the requirements for repair, Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power or specially designed tools, Lead and perform advanced composite repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles, and nose cones, including structural, surface, and lightning damage, Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning, Calibrate products using hand tools, Prepare reports and recommendations, Co-ordinate project, Complete test and maintenance reports, Advise project teams, Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, Assign technical projects to staff, Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities, Complete clear and accurate blade repair reports ,Supervise staff in both field and shop environments, Perform on-site servicing and repair, Inspect operation of instruments and systems, Oversee safety of operations, Monitor safety conditions, Lead rope access crews on turbine projects, Assist with setup, inspection, and maintenance of wind turbine systems and equipment, Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to complete projects and resolve issues, Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, Stay up to date with evolving blade repair techniques and materials.

Salary: $50.00 / hour for 30-40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time    Start Date: May 2026 End Date: October 2026

Requirements / Skills:                   Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Certification:

  • GWO BST and ART certification
  • IRATA or SPRAT Level 3 certification

On the road:  Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employe

Equipment and machinery experience: Wind Turbines

Specialization or experience: Green economy sector, hands on composite repair experience

Work site environment: Outdoors, At heights

Transportation: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel

Security and safety: pre-employment alcohol and drug test

Work setting: Repair, Service, Various locations

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination

Weight handling

  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
